A Waterfront Wine and Navy Wedding at the Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club | Melfa, VA
Taylor and Lindsay were married in a beautiful waterfront ceremony at the Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club. I have actually known Taylor and his family since middle school(!), and was so honored to get his initial email asking me to shoot the wedding—and excited to meet Lindsay! These two met playing soccer, dated for about a year, and he popped the question back in April! While we weren’t able to do engagement pictures, we got to meet up last month for coffee so we could chat about wedding details and cover the typical “get to know you’s” that I discuss with all my clients. However, as soon as I found out that Lindsay was as dog-obsessed as me, that’s basically all we talked about ;) Lindsay has a little pug named Peter Griffin (LOL), and Taylor has an Australian Shepherd, ESPN. We looked at puppy pictures and told stories and I had to keep reminding myself to talk about wedding details—distracted much, Courtney!? Anyway, these two are such a fun-loving and charismatic couple that I was immediately excited to get to capture their big day!
One of my favorite parts of the day was when Lindsay’s mom saw her in her wedding dress. She started tearing up and had to walk back outside so she could stop crying (and save her makeup). We did a first look with her dad as well, and it was so sweet to see his reaction to his beautiful daughter. Both parents were clearly overflowing with pride for Lindsay, and the entire day was filled with tears and laughter - all with such joy. Lindsay looked absolutely STUNNING and Taylor’s reaction made it obvious that he thought so too (I love capturing the groom’s face when he sees his bride for the first time!).
The reception decor was incredibly intricate and so beautiful! Lindsay’s mom is an event planner, and she truly outdid herself with an abundance of roses, and lanterns and candles casting a gorgeous glow over the evening. The enormous cupcake tower was like nothing I've ever seen (and trust me, just as delicious!). The dance floor was constantly filled, usually consisting of a huge dance circle, and the groom, his dad and his sister all played air guitar in the midst of this epic celebration.
At the end of the night, Taylor scooped up his new bride, carrying her through a flurry of cheering guests and sparklers. Despite the overcast skies that evening, this was among the brightest celebrations I’ve yet to capture. I hope you enjoy my favorites from this day!!
Lindsay wore this gorgeous gown to walk down the aisle and then changed into a different one for the reception!
One of the most gorgeous rings I've seen all year!!! Well done, Taylor!!
Before the ceremony, the couple read letters they had written to each other and exchanged gifts.
All of the groomsmen wore different socks featuring different NFL teams!
AHHH SO GORGEOUS!!!!
Lindsay, you are absolutely STUNNING!!!!
My favorite part of every wedding day!!!!
