An Intimate and Elegant Winter Wedding at the Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club | Virginia Beach, VAI couldn’t imagine a better way to close out my 2017 wedding season than to play a small part in the wedding day of two such incredible friends. I’ve known Mason and Alex for years (since they started dating, actually!) and being able to see them promise forever to each other in front of their family and closest friends was the most beautiful thing to witness. They met at Bayville Golf Club almost four years ago and started dating shortly after. Fast forward to this fall, where for their engagement, Mason took her back where it all started and got on one knee on the 18th hole. He choked up as he proposed and she said yes (and I got to hide in the bushes!!) Alex has this effortless elegance to her, so it makes sense that she would have impeccable taste. The feel of the day was intimate and romantic, simple and elegant. The Linkhorn Bay behind the Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club was a perfect backdrop for them to say “I do”, and we were blessed with beautiful weather and the most gorgeous light!! (I am SO excited about these pictures!!!) Alex and Mason decided to keep the guest list small, and they also chose to only have their two siblings as their bridal party. The doors of the reception room were removed to connect to a small heated tent with a dance floor, fire pits and sofas. The ambiance was relaxed with an air of enchantment, and the string lights hung on the clear tent ceiling gave the illusion that you were under the stars. The best part about this wedding was seeing both sides of the aisle come together to celebrate the bride and groom. One of the benefits of having such a small and intimate wedding is that the couple had the chance to hang out with every single one of their guests! By the end of the night, the two families had truly become one. The special dances were amazing - Alex’s dad cried while he danced with his daughter, Mason and his mom put on an amazing show (do NOT miss those pictures) and everyone was captivated by the newlyweds during their first dance as husband and wife. Mason and Alex held each other close as they spun around, and they looked into one another’s eyes as if they were the only ones in the room. I think they thought they were. They were in their own little world that we were blessed to get a glimpse into. I couldn’t stop smiling all day as I watched the two of them together - not just because they are dear friends, but because the love they share is genuine and raw and couldn’t be contained. The joy they emanated that day was contagious. I think it’s pretty obvious that I’m a little obsessed with these two people and with this wedding, so I hope you enjoy scrolling through all of these memories as much I as enjoyed capturing them! You two look like something out of a fairy tale!!!!! I really don't know if it gets any more gorgeous than this!!!!! I loved the idea of just having a best man and maid of honor!! Mason's joy couldn't be contained! Look at that smile!!! Mr. and Mrs. Jeffries!!!!!! Alex, you look like a literal princess!! How are you so incredibly gorgeous!!? I can't get over how these two look at each other. It makes me melt. Mason you look straight out of GQ!! The sweetest father-daughter dance I've ever seen!! These two have such a special relationship and had the entire room losing it at their dance moves!!! The cake table was the focal point of the reception was still remaining understated - I was obsessed with Alex's choices in decor. Look at this joy!!! Mason is a surfer and "swam" his way over to Alex, before "popping up on his board" to remove the garter. It was absolutely amazing!! Melody, the DJ, taught the entire dance floor the moves to the "Thriller" music video!! The night ended with the bride and groom dancing to "Don't Stop Believing" followed by a gorgeous sparkler exit. Mason and Alex, Being able to spend your wedding day with you made me the happiest photographer and friend ever!!! I couldn't be more excited to see what your future holds. I love you guys so much! xo, Courtney Dress: All the Rage
