Chick's Beach Engagement Pictures | Virginia Beach, VAMatt and Laurel's engagement session was different than any I've ever done! I'm sure you're wondering how, as most of it seems pretty typical. Beach? Check. Dressy clothes? Check. Gorgeous ring? Check. The thing that made this one different from all the others is this: we shot the entire thing in twenty minutes. No joke, t w e n t y minutes. How is that possible? Well, when you see the sky turn dark 5 minutes into the session, you realize you have to work as fast as you can! It is also necessary that you have amazingly sweet and easy-going clients who trust you and are willing to run around and laugh at your really bad jokes on command (thank you Matt and Laurel!). Just fifteen minutes later, the sky was almost black. We knew that we needed to finish up and get off the beach as soon as possible! I took one last photo and decided that we had to be done or we were going to be drenched by the impending storm. We ran back to our cars and that was it. All in twenty minutes.
Never before had I thought that it was possible to get the quantity and quality of pictures that we did that evening. Well, lesson learned - it can be done!! That said, if you are a girlfriend/fiancee/wife who desperately wants pictures taken with the man in your life, but you just can't convince him to agree to an hour and a half session, show him this post. Tell him that you now have a compromise for him! If he will agree to follow instructions for only twenty minutes, he can give you a gift that will last so much longer than that. Don't get me wrong, I would love to spend a full hour and a half with each of my clients, but I understand that there can be reservations - usually on the part of the men. If a twenty minute session sounds like something you and your guy might be interested in, send me an email! Hopefully we can make him have fun and stretch our session a little longer, but if not, you'll still get wonderful pictures like the ones below! Matt and Laurel, thanks for helping me realize that this was possible! I can't wait for your wedding next month when we will definitely be spending more than twenty minutes on pictures!! :)
