A Summer Estate Wedding at Guildford Farm | Charlottesville, VirginiaI’m back (from a wonderful family vacation in Isle of Palms, SC!!) and ready to share Florence and Matt’s wedding day with you!! This wedding weekend was an especially fun one for me, as it was held in Charlottesville, VA on the same weekend of my college reunion! I attended the University of Virginia and was ecstatic to find out that the reunion and this Charlottesville wedding were going to be on the same weekend! Because my weekends are so often booked with weddings, it’s hard to coordinate attending events like this. This was seriously a God-timing thing!!!! I am always really excited for my couples’ weddings, and the added bonus of getting to see so many friends made this weekend one that was long awaited. I was not disappointed!!! Matt and Florence had a hot but gorgeous day for their wedding, and the night cooled down to a dreamy temperature so I could enjoy some time well spent with my friends. Matt and Florence were married at Guildford Farm - an old farm home turned wedding venue just 15 minutes outside of Charlottesville. I love venues like this because the whole property is rented for the weekend and the bride and groom, bridal party and even parents can stay there if they want!! There is no travel time between venues, no coordinating rides and no showing up late because of traffic. It makes the weekend so enjoyable for everyone involved and creates a really special and intimate atmosphere. It takes away a lot of the coordination work, too! This old country home is absolutely beautiful. and I think it looks like a plantation home straight out of the south. After spending last week down near Charleston, I am even more convinced that Guildford Farm is a South Carolina plantation home at heart. It was a hot and humid Saturday with high chances of thunderstorms, but as is typical with summer weather in Virginia, the forecast was completely wrong, the skies ended up being clear and we didn’t have a single bit of rain! The ceremony was held outside in the front yard of the house and the reception took place under a tent filled with twinkle lights in the back yard. I've had so much fun working with this couple over the past year! They are gracious and kind and completely in love and I was honored to have them as clients! Scroll through these photos to see their contagious joy, and enjoy this wedding day from my point of view. Florence had the BEST group of bridesmaids!! I had so much fun hanging out with them all day! I was a little obsessed with their invitation - that watercolor looks gorgeous!! One of my favorite parts of a wedding day!! The joy and awe on everyone's faces!! Talk about stunning!!! Florence you belong in a magazine! I love this shot!! Candids like this are the best!! Everyone is so happy! The pendant and ring that Florence hung from her bouquet belong to her grandparents, worn on their wedding day! HEART EYES!!! Cake and tarts and cupcakes, oh my!! A beautiful couple and dreamy light makes for GORGEOUS pictures!! I couldn't stop snapping away! Guys!!! This is so perfect!! I sort of freaked out when I saw the glow in this field!! It's absolutely perfect! DREAMY. I really am obsessed with this venue - Guildford Farm, you are beautiful!! I love these photos so much! The dance floor stayed moving the whole night!! Matt + Florence, It was an honor to capture your beautiful day for you!! Thank you for having me and I hope you're having the best time in Bali!! xo, Courtney Dress: Here and Now Bridal
