A Summer Wedding at The Oyster Farm at Kings Creek | Cape Charles, VirginiaSteve and Johanna are the sweetest couple!!!!! These two were married in August at Saint Charles Catholic Church with a reception at The Oyster Farm at Kings Creek. Johanna’s parents have a house in Cape Charles, and the couple fell in love with the area, the beach, and the sunsets. However, every time they had previously visited the Oyster Farm (even the time I drove up to meet them!), it had rained - as in stormy, windy, cold rain! Still, they continued to hope for clear skies on the wedding day and maybe even a striking sunset over the bay. We talked rain plans and the possibility of reshoots, but when the big day came, it was perfect! The sunset was one for the books, too (you really don’t want to miss those pictures!). Oyster Farm has a private beach and jetty that the sun sets directly behind, making it one of my very favorite wedding venues in the area! I’m so happy that this amazing couple got their dream day at a dream venue. Steve and Johanna complete each other. I mean it - they are truly a great match!! This was obvious to me when I first met them, but it became more and more evident the more I got to know them. At the wedding, Johanna’s dad gave a beautiful speech about the couple that brought me to tears. He described his pride and love for his amazing daughter, her determination to build a beautiful life for her teenage son, and her success in her schooling and her career. The only thing missing was someone to care for her the way she cared for others. He then spoke about Steve and how he had come into that life and made it truly perfect. Steve cared for Johanna like no one ever had before - he completed the family. I hope you enjoy my favorites from the wedding of one of my very favorite couples!! Johanna, you were such a stunning bride!!!! Always one of my favorite moments to capture!! The new Mr. and Mrs.!!! There are so many options for photo spots at the Oyster Farm - a photographer's dream!! The flower girls were precious!! These two!! Ahh, dying!! I had so much fun with these two!! Honestly did not want the day to end!! Incredible Edibles Bakery truly outdid themselves!! What a masterpiece!!! I just love these two and the way they love each other!!! It's not hard to get your couple to sneak away from their reception for a few minutes when they're headed toward THAT VIEW!!! Seriously!!!! Look at that sky!!!! These are some of my favorite dance floor pictures I've ever captured!! The bride's parents celebrated their anniversary with a special dance, and it was a beautiful moment!! Nothing like a sparkler exit to end a perfect evening!!!! Steve + Johanna, You two are beautiful souls!!! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your amazing wedding day!! xo, Courtney Bride's Dress: Rebecca Ingram from Juliet's Bridal
