A Blush and Gray Hightower Falls Wedding | Rome, GeorgiaI watched one of my oldest and closest friends marry her other half two weeks ago - a guy I have been hearing about since high school! Converse and Morganne said their vows in front of family and friends from all over the world (literally) on a riverbank in the mountains of Georgia in front of a waterfall (again, I'm serious). It was perfect and magical and wonderful and filled me with crazy amounts of joy to see a woman who is so close to my heart marry the person who completes hers. Morganne is part of my family (no really, she actually lived with mine for a while!) and it was one of my greatest honors to witness her start her own. Morganne and Converse met in high school in Nairobi, Kenya, the place where they both grew up. The bride's family was Christian missionaries, and the groom's had a Nairobi-based financial business. In Morganne's own words, this is how the first interaction went: "I still remember the first time that I met Con. I was a high school freshman, and I was standing by my locker talking to friends and watching the indoor football game. I noticed a boy playing and was instantly attracted to him! After the game, our mutual friend brought him up to meet me. His piercing blue eyes grabbed my attention... and my heart from the very beginning." With Morg being a freshman and Con a senior, they were close friends but never felt they could be much more. However, ten long years later, they reunited. Soon after, Morganne moved back to Nairobi from Virginia, and Con proposed just 6 months later. When you've known someone for that long and finally realize that they are the one who complete your heart, why would you wait? As Morganne said, "it's always been him." (cue the tears!!). Please enjoy these memories from the wedding day of two very special people. The love felt that day was so very evident to everyone present, and I sincerely hope that it pours out of these photographs as well.! Just a little bit in love with these! Morganne is a lucky one - TWO rings and TWO proposals! The first being with a family heirloom. One of Morganne's bridesmaids is a hair stylist in North Carolina and gave her the most beautiful half up/half down style. Would you take a look at this beauty?! So many feels!!!!! Morganne's gift to Con - a beautiful, engraved tie clip. I would say that this first look location is above average... (HEART EYES!!) My heart is so full knowing how cherished my dear friend is! Just see how he looks at her! A fairy tale venue! ![]() A vine-encased, castle-like mill next to a waterfall? Yes, this is real life. One of Morganne's maids of honor very suddenly lost a family member a few days before the wedding. Although she was unable to be there in person, she was thought of and missed the entire day. The mother of the bride carried her bouquet down the aisle to a seat reserved in the front row with her name on it. We love you, Annie! These two are SO dear to my heart! What a special walk to be able to witness. They did it!!!!! ![]() All the new siblings! Such a fun (and good looking!) bridal party! So, SO happy!!!! The bride's talented sister Allison made this incredible naked cake! First dances are my absolute favorite. The toasts were beautiful and included well-wishes in several languages :) The groom's cousin Ross absolutely stole the show!! Con and Morgie, I've realized that the thing I love most about my job is getting to document moments like these for friends like you. I don't have the words to describe how special this was. I love you both. So very much! xo, Courtney Dress: Top Hat in Rome, Georgia
