An Elegant Blue and Gray Summer Wedding at Bayville Golf Club | Virginia Beach, VAWhat an amazing day this was!! Jason and Bailey had a gorgeous Saturday in August to say “I do” at Bayville Golf Club. The weather was fantastic, and spending the ceremony and reception outdoors was very enjoyable - not something you would usually expect for August! Although I have shot at Bayville for various sessions throughout the last few years, this was my first time photographing a wedding on their grounds. The reception tent was pitched in the grass behind the club house that overlooks the lake, making for beautiful views for the guests. The golf course itself meanders around a gorgeous strip of waterfront property, filled with pampas grasses, tree-lined pathways, and a few private residences. The thing I love the most about the property is how secluded it is. The million and one locations for pictures don’t hurt either! Jason and Bailey’s parents are old friends, and the bride and groom first met on a joint family vacation to Mexico 7 years ago. They had a connection while on the trip, but the timing wasn’t right and they went their separate ways upon returning to the US. Their mutual crushes didn’t dissipate, however, and one year later, Jason asked Bailey to come to his sister’s wedding with him - their official “first date”!! Rumor has it that they were pretty much inseparable after that ;) After dating for 5 years and moving between Virginia Beach, Charlottesville and DC, Jason proposed last summer, and here we are!! The word I would use use to best describe this couple is “genuine”. Their love for each other is inspiring, their demeanors, warm and inviting, and their words are always kind. Wedding days can be stressful (and usually are!), but neither one of them worried about the little things. The only things they seemed to focus on were each other, their guests, and their new union! Their fun loving and easygoing personalities makes it so that everyone wants to be around them - myself included! - and I think that every single one of their guests was on the dance floor together at one point!! I was having so much fun spending the day with them, I honestly didn’t want it to end! (Especially when the band came on and I saw the crowd TEAR UP the dance floor. The father of the bride has some SERIOUS skills!) The amount that their friends and family adored them was obvious, and if there was ever a couple with the potential to positively impact people, it's these two. Their hearts for others shine bright! I hope you enjoy some photos from one of my favorite days with two beautiful people!! Bailey has a bow and ruffled train that attached to the back of her dress - I've never loved a look so much!!!! Bailey's "something borrowed": her mom's tennis bracelet ![]() OB - SESSED. I am SO on board with these dove gray bridesmaid dresses!! Give me all the neutrals!! Such a fun and good looking group of guys!! Can we talk about the beauty in this picture?!? It certainly runs in the families! Such a sweet first look! Still not over that dress!!!! AHH! (Sorry, Jason! Your suit is nice, too!) Two truly beautiful humans - inside and out!! You really can't beat views like this. Neutrals and greenery - my dream come true!!! The bride's uncle and brother sang a beautiful rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" before the start of the ceremony. I adore this photo! Bailey's dad looks at her with so much pride! THEY'RE MARRIED!!! Bailey and I noticed this dock on our venue walkthrough the week prior to the wedding, and we were so excited to do sunset pictures here! Bailey!! Talk about STUNNING! Yep, I adore you two. The band, Horizon, was amazing! I highly recommend them! Jason and Bailey, I can't tell you how much fun I had with you guys!! Thank you for letting me spend your wedding day with you!! Let's do it again? Vow renewal ASAP?! xo, Courtney Dress: Badgley Mischka from Studio I Do
