A Classic Virginia Wedding at The College of William and Mary | Williamsburg, VA
Do you know what it means when you get married in a hurricane? It means that you've basically already won at life and that everything from here on out will be pretty easy (ok, maybe not quite easy, but you've definitely already weathered a huge storm together!). Scott and Liz deserve MAJOR props. I don't think I would be half as calm as they were if there was a hurricane on my wedding day - especially when the ceremony and reception were both supposed to be outside! A last minute change of plans moved the ceremony inside, but this couple still had their reception outside under a big tent – rain and all!
A First Landing State Park Engagement | Virginia Beach, VA
Ahhh! This couple is just so wonderful. I’ve known Justin and Megan for a while now and was beyond honored when they asked me to shoot their wedding this November at the Duke Gardens down in Durham. They recently moved down to North Carolina, but decided to drive back up to Virginia Beach to get their engagement pictures taken, so I was excited to be able to take pictures in a place that has so many memories for them. We decided to shoot in First Landing State Park (which they lived next door to while they were here), giving us both the beach and the forest as backdrops for pictures. It was an overcast morning and the first cool day of the season - perfect early fall weather!
A European Garden Inspired Family Session at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens | Norfolk, VA
I have been taking pictures of this sweet family for years, and it never gets old! We started when the parents, Ed Michael and Martina, were just a newly engaged couple, and now we are taking family photos with their adorable two little boys! I just love watching my clients’ families grow! When Martina told me that her idea for this session was inspired by European gardens, I couldn’t have been more excited! So much about this shoot makes me think Paris, from Martina’s beautiful blush tulle skirt to the stone walkways, from the wrought iron gates to the gorgeous rose gardens. Martina’s family is from Italy, and I know how much she loves being across the pond. I hope you enjoy our little slice of Europe in Virginia!
