A Hermitage Hill Farm and Stables Wedding in the Blue Ridge Mountains | Waynesboro, Virginia
When you think of perfect weather, what comes to mind? Cloudless sky? Low humidity? High of 75? Nice breeze? If that’s your ideal day, you would have been in heaven this past Sunday in Waynesboro. It was truly THE ideal day to have an outdoor wedding in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Surrounded by rolling hills, horses, and mountains in the distance, I couldn’t have been happier to spend the day outside celebrating Mike and Alex!!
Alex has the sweetest spirit and is absolutely adored by Mike. They are so lovely and wonderful and are total dream clients!! Months ago when I asked Mike what he loved about Alex the most, he responded with “her kindness”. Many guests throughout the day echoed that sentiment and made it obvious just how beloved this sweet bride is! Alex said that she loved how Mike inspired her daily to be the best person she can be. They both told me that they truly relied on each other for support and stability. After seeing them together during their engagement session last summer in Norfolk and again on this beautiful day, I agree with them - they are each other's foundations. What a wonderful beginning to a marriage!
One of the biggest highlights of the day just might have been the sweet little flower girl. “Little Alex”, as she was so fondly called, was beyond excited and adorable and I honestly probably have as many pictures of her as I do of “Big Alex”. I couldn’t help myself!! She was too cute!! She arrived with a picture that she drew for the bride and was shocked and ecstatic when she found out that SHE got presents too! Big Alex had created a gift bag for her filled with coloring books and candy and everything a little girl could want. I wish you guys could've seen her face when she was presented with a miniature version of the robes that all of the bridesmaids were wearing! Eee!! Such elation! She was honestly just perfect. You’ll see what I mean as you scroll through the pictures below! Photos of her pop up everywhere :)
I truly had the most wonderful time celebrating the union of these two with their sweet family and friends!! I hope you enjoy my favorites!!!
The inside of the stable was SO BEAUTIFUL!
One of my favorite dresses to date!! Long trains and long veils always make me swoon!
The bride made these bouquets herself!! Alex, I might have to hire you one day ;)
Little Alex couldn't have been more excited to be one of the "big girls" for the day!
Ahhh, I love it!
The only word that comes to mind here is STUNNING!!
You go, girl!!
I don't know if a ceremony site can get more gorgeous than this!!!
Whenever you talk about perfect weather, THIS is what you're talking about.
Dr. and Mrs. Layne, everyone!!!
I still can't get over the fact that these were DIY!! They're SO beautiful! Can you spot Little Alex's hand on the right side of the photo? She was included in almost all of the bridesmaid pictures and couldn't have been more excited!
Insert all of the heart eyed, crying, "awww"ing emojis...
ALEX, YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
The sweetest couple you'll ever meet!
I didn't think it was possible, but this cake actually tasted even better than it looked!!!
Little Alex, you totally stole my heart!
My favorite part of the day... sunset portraits!!!! Mike and Alex, thank you, THANK YOU for letting me steal you away for this extra portrait session - these pictures are my favorites from the entire day!!
We were soo spoiled to have this incredible light!! It just makes everything so dreamy!!
You two are perfect. Like, actually.
Mike and Alex, you both have such beautiful spirits and I thoroughly enjoyed our time spent together! Thank you for letting me share in your celebration!!
